Let’s talk

Triss Privacy Policy

Last updated: 19 October 2026

Triss is a game by Aaron Thorne (Concept Alpha) for iPhone, iPad and Mac. This policy explains the information the game saves for you and how it uses Apple’s iCloud and Game Center services. No separate Triss account is required.

What Triss stores

Triss saves your settings, high scores, names you choose to enter for those scores, gameplay statistics and achievement progress on your device. Statistics include games played, total and best scores, average score, time played, longest game, highest level and combo, successful and failed drawings, games reaching the maximum multiplier, overload escapes, power-ups used, and shapes cleared by type and colour. High-score entries include a score, level, game duration, date, a random entry identifier and any name you choose to enter. The saved statistics contain counts and totals, not a recording of your finger or mouse movements. Local preferences include audio, control and accessibility options, and whether introductory screens have been shown. They let you view your own gameplay history and progress; they are not sent to Concept Alpha for analytics.

iCloud sync

When iCloud is available for Triss, the game uses Apple’s iCloud key-value storage to sync high scores, your chosen player name, achievement progress and gameplay statistics between devices using the same Apple Account. A randomly generated identifier distinguishes each installation’s statistics so totals can be combined. This identifier is stored locally and used as a key in your iCloud data; it is not used for advertising or tracking. Triss starts syncing automatically when Apple’s iCloud service is available; there is no separate in-game iCloud switch. Sound, music, controls and other device preferences remain local. Without iCloud, these features store their data locally. Concept Alpha does not operate a server receiving this save data or have access to your private iCloud save data.

Game Center

If you sign in to Game Center, Triss sends scores and achievement progress to Apple’s Game Center service. Your Game Center profile and scores may be visible to other players according to Apple’s Game Center features and your privacy settings. Triss can display your Game Center player alias, but does not receive your Apple Account password or contact details. The name you type for the in-game high-score table is separate from your Game Center nickname; Triss submits the numerical score through Game Center rather than uploading that typed name as a leaderboard name. Achievement progress earned while signed out can be submitted when you later sign in. You can play without signing in to Game Center.

Your choices and stored data

You can manage iCloud and Game Center through your device’s Apple Account settings. Removing the app does not necessarily remove its local files on every platform, and does not delete data already stored in iCloud or Game Center. Synced progress may return when you reinstall the game. Manage any available cloud-data deletion options through Apple’s settings or support. Concept Alpha cannot delete data held in your Apple Account on your behalf.

No advertising or tracking

Triss has no adverts, advertising identifiers, third-party analytics SDKs or in-app purchases. We do not use gameplay statistics to track you across apps or websites, sell your data or build advertising profiles. The game works offline; iCloud sync and Game Center features require connectivity.

Apple services

Apple operates iCloud and Game Center under its own terms and privacy policy. Apple may process service and diagnostic information as described in its privacy notices and your Apple settings.

Children

The data practices described above apply to all players, including children. Triss does not ask for an email address, date of birth or contact details to play. Apple manages availability and privacy controls for its services, including child accounts.

Retention, backups and security

Local progress is kept between sessions until its files are removed or replaced. Triss does not apply a fixed automatic expiry to saved progress. Depending on your device settings, Apple or your computer’s backup system may also retain copies of local app data. iCloud sync, device backups and Game Center are separate services: deleting a copy in one place may leave copies elsewhere, and another device may sync existing progress back. Triss currently has no in-game control to erase all local and cloud data at once. Apple determines retention and security for information held by its services; this policy does not promise a particular encryption mode, immediate erasure of backups or deletion of Game Center records when you uninstall.

Information we do not request

Triss does not ask for your real name, email address, phone number, postal address, date of birth, contacts, photos, microphone, camera or physical location to play. You may use a nickname for the optional high-score name. Touch and mouse input are used to control the game; drawing accuracy is a gameplay statistic, not biometric identification. Local accessibility preferences are used to adjust presentation, not infer a medical condition. Triss does not use an advertising identifier, data brokers or automated decisions about eligibility for services.

Contacting us and your choices

If you contact Concept Alpha for support, we receive the contact details and message you choose to provide through that separate communication channel. Please do not send passwords or unnecessary sensitive information. We use support information to handle your enquiry; the contact website and its service providers have their own privacy practices. This game policy does not describe all website cookies or hosting logs.

You can contact us about access, correction, deletion or other applicable privacy rights concerning information Concept Alpha holds. We cannot retrieve your private iCloud save directly. Requests concerning information held by Apple should be directed to Apple through its account settings, support or data and privacy tools. Applicable rights and any verification requirements depend on the information and your location.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page and its last-updated date when the game’s data practices change. The iCloud and statistics descriptions apply to versions that include those features; older versions may store fewer statistics or use only local saves and Game Center.
